Things to do in Busan 2026: 10 Spots with Prices, Access, and Booking Tips

Bottom line: With three days for a first Busan trip, seven to eight of these ten spots are realistic. Day one: old downtown and Yeongdo-gu — Jagalchi Market, Gukje Market and Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market, Yongdusan Park and Busan Tower, Huinnyeoul Culture Village, Taejongdae. Day two: the eastern coast, Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches split by half-days. Day three: Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Gijang in the morning, and if energy allows, the Songdo Cable Car and Gamcheon Culture Village in the afternoon. Gamcheon and Songdo sit in opposite directions, so if time is tight, save one of them, or Taejongdae, for a return trip.
If you didn't know: the Danubi train that used to loop Taejongdae has been fully suspended since a coupling failure injured riders in July 2026, with no restart date set, so right now the whole trail is on foot. Haedong Yonggungsa is free to enter, but parking runs 2,000 won for the first 30 minutes and 500 won per 10 minutes after. Busan Tower stays open till 10pm, but last entry is 9:30pm, so arriving late means being turned away. Jagalchi Market is closed the first and third Tuesday of every month, catching visitors who skip checking the date. On nights with Gwangalli's drone light show, locals say to arrive two to three hours early for a decent spot.
At a glance: Haeundae and Gwangalli beaches, Gamcheon and Huinnyeoul culture villages, Taejongdae, Haedong Yonggungsa, Jagalchi Market, and Gukje Market are all free. The only paid stops are Busan Tower in Yongdusan Park (12,000 won adults, 9,000 won children/65+, 10am-10pm, last entry 9:30pm, 051-601-1800) and the Songdo Cable Car (round trip about 19,000 won Air Cruise, about 24,000 won Crystal Cruise, 051-247-9900). Reach Haedong Yonggungsa by bus 139 or 1001 from Osiria Station; Gamcheon by village bus Saha 1-1 or Seogu 2 from Toseong Station Exit 6; Taejongdae by bus 8 from Nampo-dong. Only the cable car and tower need advance online booking — everything else is walk-in, same-day.
Exit 3 or 5 at Haeundae Station on Line 2, walk 8-10 minutes — two more to the sand — and the salt air arrives first. The beach is free, always open, no booking needed, and an early walk can mean just the sound of waves. Gwangalli Beach, a 10-minute walk from Gwangan or Geumnyeonsan Station, is just as free and walk-in, and once Gwangan Bridge lights up at dusk it's the city's best night view. On drone-show nights, go early for a spot; on summer weekend afternoons both beaches get too crowded to find sand, so mornings work better.
Transfer at Osiria Station Exit 1 onto bus 139 or 1001, get off at 'Yonggungsa·National Institute of Fisheries Science,' and a 15-minute walk brings you to Haedong Yonggungsa, perched over the rocks. Entry is free, but the 108 steps down and back cost an hour to 90 minutes, and weekend mornings crowd up, so go right at opening. Gamcheon Culture Village's pastel hillside is reached from Toseong Station Exit 6 by village bus Saha 1-1, Seogu 2, or Seogu 2-2 to Gamcheon Elementary; entry is still free. The murals and alleys take 90 minutes to two hours, and while no booking is needed, weekday mornings avoid the crush in the narrow lanes.
Huinnyeoul Culture Village, on Yeongdo's cliffs, is reached by bus 82, 85, or 508 from Busan Station over Yeongdo Bridge; stairs and narrow lanes make the coastal path over an hour, but the sea view at the end looks like a film set. No ticket or booking is needed, but alleys fill up weekend afternoons, so go weekday mornings. Taejongdae, on bus 8 from Nampo-dong, is free and takes 90 minutes to two hours to loop on foot — the Danubi train is fully suspended since a July 2026 accident, so the whole trail is walking only for now. Jagalchi Market, linked straight to Jagalchi Station, runs 5am-10pm with the sashimi hall from 9am, but closes the first and third Tuesday each month, so check the date before you miss the gulls and the fresh fish.
Gukje Market, steps from Jagalchi or Nampo Station, has most stalls open 8am-8pm, while the Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market beside it runs 7:30pm-11:30pm nightly, sizzling grills and all. No ticket or booking needed, but 8-9pm is busiest, so go right as it opens. Nearby Yongdusan Park is free to wander; Busan Tower inside charges 12,000 won adults and 9,000 won children/seniors, open 10am-10pm with last entry 9:30pm — cut it close and you're turned away. The Songdo Cable Car, via bus 71 or 7 from Nampo Station to Amnam Park stop, covers 1.62km in 15-20 minutes round trip, about 19,000 won on Air Cruise or 24,000 won on Crystal Cruise, and booking online ahead skips the weekend queue.
