Check your bags in Myeongdong, Hongdae or Samseong and spend your last day empty-handed — but all five close on Wednesdays

Bottom line: you do not have to drag your suitcase around on your last day. At five places in Seoul and Incheon you can complete check-in and hand over your checked baggage in advance, spend the day empty-handed, and then go to the airport. The service is called Easy Drop. If you did not know: dragging a suitcase through subways and cafes on your last day costs you two or three hours and your energy. But the bigger trap is the closing days — all five locations are closed on Wednesdays and public holidays. If you fly out on a Wednesday you cannot use this service at all, and finding that out on the morning itself wrecks the plan. The airlines are also fixed at seven, so a ticket with any other carrier will not be accepted.

Opening hours differ by location. Myeongdong Luggage Less runs 09:00-16:00, the Hongdae Holiday Inn Express 1F lobby 07:30-16:30, Samseong Station City Airport Terminal 07:00-16:00, and both Incheon locations, Inspire and Paradise City, 09:00-18:00. For a morning flight, Samseong Station or Hongdae is the only option. For a late afternoon flight, the two Incheon locations leave plenty of room.

The deadline is counted backwards from your flight. By the airport's own guidance, check-in closes 3 hours 30 minutes before departure at Terminal 1 and 4 hours before at Terminal 2. One more schedule sits on top of that — after the first transport run (11:30), flights departing Terminal 1 between 15:00 and 19:30, and Terminal 2 between 15:30 and 20:00, cannot be accepted. In other words, if you leave between 3 and 8 in the afternoon, your baggage has to be handed over before 11:30 in the morning.

There are five steps. First you check in at the location with your passport and ticket and receive your boarding pass and baggage tags. Second you hand over your baggage. Third the baggage is transported to the airport. Fourth it is verified at the airport. Fifth it is loaded onto the aircraft. You never meet your baggage again at the airport — you go straight to security and immigration, and collect it at the baggage claim of your arrival airport.

Some things cannot be handed over. Blades, oversized baggage, and sports equipment are restricted as special baggage. If you are travelling with a golf bag, call ahead. Also, news reports from 2025 mentioned discounts of 25,000 won for ordinary customers and 20,000 won per person for families of two or more, but we could not confirm these in the airport's official guidance. Whether a discount applies has to be checked on the booking screen.
