개인정보에 관한 문의는 desk@koreatourismtimes.com 으로 받습니다.
1. Who we are
Korea Tourism Times (koreatourismtimes.com) is an online newspaper for visitors to Korea, published by Kim Taechoul. Privacy questions: desk@koreatourismtimes.com.
2. What we collect and why
| Where | Data | Purpose | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading the paper | Page-view counts, referring domain, country code (derived from IP; the IP itself is not stored) | Daily totals of what is read | Totals only, indefinitely |
| "Ask the desk" and booking-help forms | Name, contact (email or messenger ID), your message, language, a truncated hash of your IP, browser type | To answer you and to make the reservation on your behalf | 12 months after handling |
| AI assistant connection (MCP server at /mcp) | Search queries sent by your AI — not stored. Booking requests: same fields as the form | To return article facts to your AI and to take booking requests | Queries not kept; booking requests 12 months |
| Newsletter | Email address | Sending edition notices | Until you unsubscribe |
There are no accounts, logins or payments. The only thing stored in your browser is a copy of the last edition you viewed, which is never sent to our servers. On pages that carry advertising, however, Google AdSense sets cookies. You choose how far that goes in the consent window shown on your first visit — see section 9 below.
3. Who we share it with
- When we book for you, we give the venue the name, party size and time. Your contact is passed on only if the venue requires it.
- We use Resend to send email and Google Cloud / Firebase (US region) to store data. Both act only on our instructions.
- Advertising is served by Google AdSense (section 9). We do not hand the personal data you give us to advertisers.
- We never sell personal data. The only exception is a lawful request from authorities.
4. International transfer
Storage and email servers are in the United States. The data transferred is the form and booking data in section 2, for the same purposes and periods.
5. Your rights
You can ask at any time to see, correct, delete or stop processing your data. Email desk@koreatourismtimes.com; we reply within 7 days. The newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
6. Security
We keep only a truncated hash of IP addresses, never the raw address. The inbox is opened only with the publisher's token. All traffic is HTTPS.
7. Children
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 14. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
8. Changes
When this policy changes we update the date and version here and, for material changes, post a notice on the front page for at least 7 days.
9. Advertising and cookies
This paper carries advertising through Google AdSense. To serve those ads, Google and its partners store and read cookies on your device.
- The choice is yours. A consent window appears on your first visit. You decide there whether to allow personalised ads, and you can change it at any time.
- If you allow it, Google selects ads based on sites you have visited.
- If you decline, ads are chosen from the content of the article you are reading, with no tracking. You will still see ads.
- Either way, the personal data you give us (booking requests, enquiries, newsletter address) is never used for advertising and never passed to advertisers.
- What Google does with ad data is set out in How Google uses data on partner sites; you can turn personalised ads off at Google Ad Settings.
