Fall Royal Culture Festival Runs October 7-11 at Seoul's Palaces: Hands-On by Day, Palace Nights After Dark

The 2026 Fall Royal Culture Festival, Korea's largest heritage festival set in the Joseon palaces, will run for five days from October 7 to 11 across Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung and the Jongmyo Shrine. This edition expands daytime exhibitions, tours and hands-on programs, and evening performances and experiences set against the palaces' night scenery.

At Gyeongbokgung, the 'Hanbok Yeonhyang' royal procession reenactment takes place October 9-10 alongside court costume exhibitions and hanbok-making demonstrations; Changdeokgung's Huijeongdang hall hosts a craft exhibition, while Changgyeonggung stages a 'time travel' reenactment of palace daily life and the night media art show 'Mulbit Yeonhwa.' With many programs you can join in person - ideally in hanbok - it is a schedule worth building a trip around if you are in Seoul in the second week of October.
