Seoul Subway Lost and Found 2026: Home Delivery From ₩5,000, and How Do You Get Your Item Back?

The moment a first-time visitor realizes they left a bag on Seoul Subway Line 2, their mind usually goes blank — especially if they only have a few hours left before packing up at the hotel and heading to the airport. Until recently, the only option was to go in person to whichever lost-and-found center was holding the item, and those centers are open only on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At a glance: Seoul Metro launched a "doorstep delivery service for lost items" on July 20, 2026, shipping items held at its lost-and-found centers to any address the owner chooses. The fee is based on weight — 5,000 won under 2 kg, 6,000 won for 2-10 kg, and 7,000 won for 10-20 kg, though it can vary by delivery area and item size. To apply, call the center holding the item (City Hall Station center for Lines 1-2: +82-2-6110-1122; Chungmuro center for Lines 3-4: +82-2-6110-3344; Wangsimni center for Lines 5-8: +82-2-6311-6765; Taereung center for Lines 6-7: +82-2-6311-6766) to verify your identity, then enter your address and pay through the link sent by text. The subway customer center (1577-1234) can also confirm whether an item has been found.
Without knowing about this service, the consequences are straightforward: you have to carve out time from sightseeing to match the centers' weekday 9-6 hours, and a round trip by public transit can eat up half a day. Knowing about it, a phone call and 5,000 to 7,000 won settle the whole thing. CJ Logistics handles the delivery, and any loss or damage in transit is covered under the courier's own compensation process, so even a valuable item can be shipped with reasonable peace of mind.
Not everything qualifies, though. Cash, securities, food, explosive materials, and live animals or plants are excluded, so if you lost one of those, you'll still need to visit the center in person or look into another process. The delivery address also has to be inside Korea, so the service can't be requested once you've already left the country — the key is to call as soon as you notice the loss, while you're still in Korea.
If you're about to check out with a bag still stuck in lost-and-found limbo, just list your hotel as the delivery address. What felt like a lost cause on day one can turn up at your door on the last day of the trip.
