Bottom line: If you're planning to stash a large suitcase (24 inches or bigger) in a coin locker at Seoul Station or Incheon Airport, check locker availability before you go. Lockers big enough for large suitcases are limited in number, they fill up fast during peak times, and if none are free you'll end up switching to a luggage-storage sharing app instead.

If you didn't know: Luggage-storage apps advertise rates starting at ₩5,100 a day in big letters on the home screen, but by the time you reach checkout, a separate ₩2,988 fee per bag gets added. Store two suitcases and you'll actually pay ₩5,976 more than the advertised price. Travelers who switch to these apps after failing to find a locker often don't notice this fee until the final payment screen, and end up surprised by a bill higher than they expected.

Rate (Radical Storage) from ₩5,100/day per bag by size, plus a separate ₩2,988 fee per bag · Coverage up to ₩15,000,000 per bag against damage or loss · Support 24/7 year-round · Available at Seoul Station, Incheon International Airport, and other locations · Booking required in advance through the app.

Station coin lockers come in small, medium and large compartments, but only a fraction of the total are large enough to fit a full-size 28-inch suitcase. During holidays, long weekends or busy weekend mornings, those large compartments fill up first, leaving travelers trying, and often failing, to force a big case into a locker meant for carry-on bags. The common fallback is a luggage-storage sharing app, which uses counter space inside shops or cafes instead of physical lockers, so running out of room is less of an issue. But the pricing works differently. The headline number shown on the app is a starting price by bag size, 'from ₩5,100 a day,' and only at checkout does it reveal the separate ₩2,988 fee charged per bag. The company says this fee covers insurance-style protection of up to ₩15,000,000 per bag against damage or loss. For a single suitcase the gap isn't huge, but a family storing two or three bags at once can see ₩6,000 to ₩9,000 added in fees alone, pushing the final price well past the number they first saw.
