Bottom line: If your layover at Incheon Airport is 24 hours or less, skip the exit and head to the Transit Tour desk first. Pick the "Self-Guide Incheon Tour Course," show your connecting-flight ticket, and through December 31 you get $100 (about 130,000-140,000 won) off the regular price.

If you didn't know: Book at the regular price without knowing this, and you simply pay that extra $100. You'd also miss the free airport lounge coupons for transit passengers staying under 24 hours (about 2,400 coupons, first-come, 500 of them issued via the Incheon Airport Duty Free app) and the 10,000-won WOWPASS (a prepaid card for foreign visitors) given to tour participants.

Incheon International Airport Corporation launched this promotion on October 1 to pull transit passengers out of the terminal and into nearby sightseeing. The regular price isn't published as one fixed figure since it varies by course, but the $100 discount is a number the corporation stated directly. Anyone with a layover longer than 24 hours cannot join the program at all, and travelers from non-visa-waiver countries need either K-ETA approval or a separate visa to register. Seats go to online bookers and walk-in registrants together, first-come, first-served — and even with an online booking, arriving less than 30 minutes before the tour starts forfeits your seat to the waitlist. Passengers arriving at the Concourse must first take the underground shuttle train down to the 1F of Terminal 1 or 2 to find the registration desk. The coach bus and guide service are covered, but admission fees and meals are on participants. The exact eligibility details for all three perks by length of stay weren't pinned down in this check — confirm them directly at the registration desk.
