Bottom line: If you're planning to ride the AREX Express nonstop train from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station, it's worth knowing the schedule changed on October 23. Four more runs were added between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., bringing the daily total to 56, and the average interval during that window dropped from 39 to 35 minutes.

If you didn't know: Foreign travelers made up 79.8% of all Express riders in 2025 — this is the train most visitors actually take. If you don't know about the new schedule and still plan around the old 39-minute gap, you can end up watching a train you could have caught pull away, then waiting for the next one. As of September 2025, the 3 p.m. departures from Incheon Airport toward Seoul Station averaged 98.7% seat occupancy — meaning you may end up standing with a big suitcase during that window. If you want a seat, it's worth avoiding that time slot.

Route Seoul Station-Incheon Airport, nonstop · 56 daily runs starting October 23 (up from 52) · Extra trains added 11 a.m.-6 p.m., two more in each direction · Average interval in that window now 35 minutes (down from 39) · 960 more seats added per day · Fares and per-station travel times vary across official sources, so this desk could not confirm a single figure — check the AREX app or station counter · Inquiries: AREX (Incheon International Airport Railroad).

The announcement came from AREX on October 19. Express ridership hit 2.66 million in 2025, about 7,300 riders a day on average, more than 35% above 2019 levels. Average seat occupancy between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. reached 85.3%, and that steady daytime demand is why AREX added the extra runs. With the Yeongjong Bridge and Gimpo farmland sliding past the window, the train runs straight through to Seoul Station with no transfer — a draw for travelers hauling large suitcases. The added runs apply only to the Express service; the stopping (all-stations) train's schedule hasn't changed.
