No More Missing the Last Train — AREX Extends Chuseok Night Service to Seoul Station
On the nights of September 26 and 27, near the end of Korea's Chuseok holiday, the last trains between Incheon Airport and Seoul will run later than usual. AREX, the airport railroad linking Incheon International Airport and Seoul Station, is extending its last-train routes for two nights to help holiday travelers and late-night flight passengers.
At a glance: Sept 26 (Sat)-27 (Sun), two nights only · Northbound last train from Incheon Airport Terminal 2, previously ending at Digital Media City Station, extended to Seoul Station (arriving 12:57 a.m.) · Southbound last train from Seoul Station, previously ending at Geomam Station, extended to Incheon Airport Terminal 2 (arriving 1:07 a.m.) · Incheon Subway Lines 1 and 2 will also add six late-night trains each on both nights, 12 extra runs in total.
If you're landing near midnight and need to reach a hotel in downtown Seoul, or heading to the airport late at night to catch an early-morning flight, this extension can save you a costly late-night taxi fare. Under normal schedules, missing the last train in this window meant either waiting at the airport for the first train (around 5 a.m.) or paying for an expensive overnight cab.
Keep in mind the extension applies only to the nights of the 26th and 27th — regular last-train times apply during the rest of the holiday (the 24th and 25th), so don't mix up the dates. It's worth double-checking exact departure and arrival times through AREX's official announcements before you travel.
