Bottom line: The Garden of Morning Calm in Gapyeong is doable as a public-transit day trip from Seoul — take the train to Cheongpyeong Station, then switch to a local bus. Last admission is 6 p.m., so if you're coming from Seoul, plan to reach Cheongpyeong Station by around 4 p.m. at the latest.

If you didn't know: The garden stays open until 7 p.m., but it stops letting people in at 6 p.m. Arrive after that without knowing, and you simply can't use the 11,000-won adult ticket you were about to buy. The bus from Cheongpyeong Terminal to the garden also runs roughly every 30 minutes, so missing one costs you up to half an hour standing around.

Address 432 Sumogwon-ro, Sang-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do · Hours (November) 8:30 a.m.–7 p.m., last entry 6 p.m., open daily · Admission adults 11,000 won, teens 8,500 won, children 7,500 won · Parking free · Transit Cheongpyeong Station → 7–10 min walk → Cheongpyeong Terminal → garden-bound bus (roughly every 30 min) · Inquiries +82-1544-6703 · Website morningcalm.co.kr

From Seoul, take the Gyeongchun Line or the ITX-Cheongchun express from Sangbong or Yongsan Station to Cheongpyeong Station, then walk 7–10 minutes to Cheongpyeong Terminal and switch to the bus heading for the garden. Most sources list the route as bus 31-7, but numbering can change, so it's safer to double-check at the terminal information desk that the bus is indeed going to "Achim Goyo Sumokwon" (Garden of Morning Calm) before boarding.

November sits between peak and late-season foliage, so the main draw right now is the natural autumn color rather than the flower displays. The garden's winter night-lighting event, the "Five-Color Starlight Garden," runs on its own separate winter schedule, so a visit now means a daytime-only loop finished before dark.

How we checked this

Hours, admission fees, and the address were confirmed from travel-media report screens checked on 2026-11-06. The garden's official site (morningcalm.co.kr) was reachable that day, but its detail pages did not load, so the official figures could not be cross-checked exactly against it. The bus route number (31-7) and the roughly 30-minute interval from Cheongpyeong Terminal came only from lodging guides and travel write-ups, not an official timetable — call 1544-6703 to confirm before you leave.
