Jeju's Soesokkak Festival Runs This Weekend
The "2026 Soesokkak Festival" takes place over two days, September 19 and 20, around Soesokkak in Haehyo-dong, Seogwipo, Jeju. It is a village festival hosted by local residents at Soesokkak, an estuary where fresh and salt water meet, known for its black basalt gorge.

The festival features rides on traditional "teu" rafts through the gorge, a local specialty market and performances. Soesokkak is where the Hyodong Stream, flowing down from Mt. Halla, meets the sea to create deep jade-colored water, flanked by dramatic rock formations and pine forest that make it a favorite photo spot.
Since the festival lasts only the weekend, visitors coming today would do better to arrive in the morning rather than the afternoon to enjoy the gorge cruise and experience programs without rushing. It's about an hour from Jeju International Airport by public transport.
