Bottom line: The 21st Busan Fireworks Festival lights up Gwangalli Beach on Saturday, November 7. Watching from the public sand is free, but you need to stake out a spot in the early afternoon. If you want a guaranteed seat, paid tickets (R seats 100,000 won, S seats 70,000 won) must be booked by 5 p.m. on November 6.

If you didn't know: Paid seats are capped at 4 per person and sales close at 5 p.m. on November 6 — there is no walk-up sale on festival day. When the free zones get too crowded, Busan Metro Line 2 has skipped stops at Suyeong, Gwangan, and Geumnyeonsan stations for safety in past years, so you could sail right past the station you meant to get off at. A day trip from Seoul means roughly 5-6 hours just on the KTX round trip, and missing the last train after the 8 p.m. finale adds a full night's hotel bill in Busan.

November 7, 2026 (Sat), fireworks show 19:00-20:00 (pre-events from the afternoon) · Gwangalli Beach, Igidae, and Dongbaek Island, Suyeong-gu, Busan · Paid seats: R 100,000 won / S 70,000 won (max 4 per person, beach in front of Hotel Aqua Pelis and Hotel Homers) · Book via NOL Ticket (busanfireworks.com/reservation) or the BNK Busan Bank app, regular sales Sep 4, 14:00 - Nov 6, 17:00 · Free viewing available · Inquiries +82-51-713-5000

More than a million people pack this beach every year to watch an hour of fireworks explode over Gwangan Bridge, which doubles as the show's canvas. Food-stall smells drift through the crowd staking out spots from early afternoon, and tension builds as the bridge lights come on at dusk ahead of the main show. Paid seating is limited to the sand in front of Hotel Aqua Pelis and Hotel Homers; the rest of the beach and surrounding public areas are free for anyone. In 2025, crowding got bad enough that Suyeong, Gwangan, and Geumnyeonsan stations on Metro Line 2 ran some trains through without stopping for safety — similar controls are likely again this year [estimate]. From Seoul, the KTX to Busan Station takes roughly 2 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes; from there, transfer to the subway toward Gwangalli.

Coming up next: If you want to catch a year-end stage, the 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon runs December 24-25 at Kintex in Goyang, Gyeonggi. SBS has confirmed the dates officially; audience applications and the lineup are still to come.
